About ABL Technology
In July of 1998 ABL Technology was established by three original partners who had
previously run the
used CNC machinery division of the Mazak dealer here in
Florida. One of the partners has left the organization, but the remaining two
partners Rodney Baker and Scot Abaray have navigated the growth of ABL from a
mid-sized player in the industry to a leader in the used CNC machine market.
Rodney was born and raised in Miami, Florida before moving to Auburndale, Florida
where he graduated from high school, got married, and raised two children. He
attended both South Florida Community College and Polk Community College, and
also graduated from the Machinist program at Traviss Career Center which helped
him kick start a 12 year career as a CNC Machinist. Rodney also worked for a
well drilling company, installing and servicing pumps during the day while
working part time at night in a machine shop. This experience eventually helped
him gain a full time position operating CNC Machinery in a plant including Daewoo,
Miyano, Kuraki, Cincinnati, Haas, Mazak machines, as well as other CNC equipment. He moved up the
ranks to setup man and then programmer where he used Autocad, Anvil CAD/CAM
software and Mastercam. Rodney managed CNC shops with two separate companies
before landing a job in the used CNC sales division at the Florida Mazak dealer where he met and became friends with Scot Abaray.
Scot was born and raised in West Windsor, New Jersey before moving south to
attend the University of Central Florida in the mid 1980’s. He is a graduate of
UCF holding a BA in Business Administration. Scot is married and the proud
father of two children. Scot took an alternate route into the machine
tool business, spending time working in management positions with two large
privately owned companies, before taking a position in sales with the used CNC
machinery division of the Mazak dealer in Florida in 1994.
Rod and Scot have
used their diligent work ethic to craft strong business relationships throughout
the industrial equipment market, building ABL Technology into the company it is today. The great
working relationship between themselves and their team supports the opportunity to assist the manufacturing needs of clients all over the world.
Buying and selling new and used equipment from Japan to Norway to the United Kingdom,
and back to Florida served to build a network of resources for used CNC machinery, including milling machines, boring machines and Big Bore CNC lathes.
We are able to source machines through our relations with banks and finance companies, new machinery dealers around the country, and
machine shops all over the globe. We pride ourselves on the renewal business
that we have built since ABL Technology began back in 1998.
