Mori-Seiki VL-55 is designed to maximize the benefits of vertical lathes, the VL series simplifies loading/unloading, and delivers superior stability in heavy machining operations. Although the VL-55 is powerful, it is also compact and flexible, making it an ideal machine for automation. Its unprecedented performance will deliver outstanding productivity, making this series the leader in vertical lathes.
Utilizing the latest computer-aided design resources, including Finite Element Method (FEM), assures maximum rigidity. Starting with the bed, the entire machine is designed for stability. Its independent box-shaped construction with ribbed supports, create a wide platform for power.
To achieve maximum efficiency, both the X and Z axes have been equipped with high-speed servo motors. The X-axis has a rapid traverse rate of 945 IPM and the Z-axis travels at 787 IPM. The VL-55 has a 10 Station turret and uses 1 ¼” square shank tooling. All VL-55 come standard with a Rear exit type chip conveyor, coolant system and a built-in worklight.
The entire machine is designed for efficiency, including floor space requirements. Despite the large machining envelope the VL-55 only takes up 8.6 square feet of floor space: the smallest space requirements in their respective classes.
